Nepal Boccia Association for the Disabled (NBAD)
1. Background
The Nepal Boccia Association for the Disabled (NBAD) is committed to promoting inclusive sports in Nepal by strengthening systems, building capacity, and expanding access for persons with disabilities, particularly individuals with severe physical impairments.
Boccia, as a highly strategic and precision-based sport, provides a unique platform for meaningful participation, empowerment, and competitive engagement for persons with high support needs.
As part of its ongoing efforts, NBAD aims to develop structured, practical, and inclusive coaching resources for Boccia. These resources will not only support sport-specific training but also promote inclusive coaching practices applicable across disability sports contexts in Nepal.
NBAD therefore invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified individual consultants or consulting firms to develop comprehensive Inclusive Coaching Guidelines for Boccia.
2. Objective
The overall objective of this assignment is:
To develop a comprehensive, practical, and user-friendly Inclusive Coaching Guideline for Boccia that integrates sport-specific coaching methodologies with broader inclusive coaching principles.
3. Scope of Assignment (Terms of Reference)
The selected consultant/firm will be responsible for developing a comprehensive Inclusive Coaching Guideline for Boccia, combining practical coaching methodologies with inclusive facilitation principles.
The assignment will include:
· Conducting a desk review of existing Boccia and inclusive coaching materials (national and international)
· Consulting with relevant stakeholders
· Developing structured, practical, and adaptable content for coaches, trainers, and teachers
The consultant/firm will ensure that:
· The guideline reflects international best practices
· The content is contextualized to the Nepali setting
· Special consideration is given to persons with severe physical impairments
· Feedback from stakeholders is incorporated into the final document
4. Core Content Areas
The guideline should include the following components:
A. Practical Coaching Components
· Training methodologies
· Practice drills and exercises
· Functional adaptations for different impairment levels
· Session planning and delivery
B. Inclusive Coaching Principles
· Coaching approaches for persons with severe physical impairments
· Ensuring meaningful and safe participation
· Creating inclusive, respectful, and enabling learning environments
5. Stakeholder Consultation
The consultant/firm will conduct consultations with key stakeholders, including:
· Coaches and trainers
· Boccia players (especially persons with severe physical impairments)
· Disability sports organizations
· Schools and relevant institutions
6. Key Deliverables
· Draft Inclusive Coaching Guideline for Boccia
· Participation in stakeholder consultation and validation process
· Final guideline incorporating feedback from validation
7. Duration
· 30 days from the date of contract signing
8. Eligibility Criteria
Interested consultants/firms should meet the following criteria:
· Proven experience in sports development, curriculum/manual development, or related fields
· Experience in disability inclusion and disability sports (preferably physical impairments and/or Boccia)
· Strong understanding of inclusive coaching methodologies
· Excellent analytical, facilitation, and writing skills
9. Submission Requirements
Interested applicants are requested to submit:
· A brief technical proposal
· Financial Proposal
· Updated CV(s) of consultant(s)
· PAN/VAT
· Relevant experience and sample work (if available)
10. Payment Terms
· Full payment will be made upon successful completion of the assignment and submission of the final guideline
· Applicable taxes will be deducted as per the Government of Nepal regulations
